Impact-driven journeys, fuelled by music, community and connection.
why music, community and adventure matter
I was literally born into it - in a record shop in south east London. My dad, still DJ-ing at 73, filled my world with music from day one. I grew up in festival fields and raised my son the same way, with a deep appreciation for the spirit that came with those experiences.
I left home young, chasing the UK party scene before setting off to see how the rest of the world did it. I’ve spent a lifetime dancing under open skies, building friendships and connections that changed my life. Music, community and adventure have always been my guide – and they’ve become the heartbeat of The Tribe Experience.
Creating memories and magic that will last forever.
The Tribe Experience is about creating unforgettable, life-changing moments. We fuse impact-driven adventure, cultural immersion, and music-led celebrations to connect people, inspire growth, and leave a lasting legacy in extraordinary destinations. This is our story so far.
The Tribe Experience was born in 2021, co-created by series producer, Emily, and club promoter, Kai. Emily first visited Uganda in 2008 and joined Kai’s project in the country in 2018. Both fell deeply in love with the country and its people. With a strong local team already in place, they saw an opportunity to offer something different: authentic, purpose-driven travel that creates real impact - for both the communities they support and the guests who join the journey.
In February 2022, the very first Tribe Experience launched: a 10-day adventure blending hands-on community work, once-in-a-lifetime activities, and unforgettable music. Emily’s years of production experience and a lifetime of partying in the world’s most unique destinations merged with Kai’s expertise as one of the UK’s most successful promoters. Together, they created a fresh kind of travel - equal parts; purpose and party.
A string of sell-out group experiences followed, bringing hundreds of guests to Uganda and changing lives along the way. A huge festive experience in Zanzibar soon followed. In 2024, Kai left The Tribe Experience, returning to the volunteer work he started at The One Love Project in Uganda whilst Emily headed for the top of Africa, alongside her good friend and Last Night a DJ Saved My Life founder, Jonny, for The Tribe's first ever Kilimanjaro experience.
Emily continues to lead The Tribe into 2025, with a return to Uganda for a powerful journey led by two-time guest Harry O’Riordan and 18 students - marking a bold new chapter rooted in impact and collaboration. Then, in 2026, after the success of our first Kilimanjaro climb, we climb again - before heading to the Himalayas, for our most ambitious adventure yet: the world’s highest full moon party.
